Talk About My Jesus Blues

Well I’ve been born again and I’ve seen the light
I’ve got the Lord as my Savior - But it still ain’t right
I’ve got those low-down just can’t talk about my Jesus blues.

I know that black is black and (I know that) white is white
That Jesus is God but I’m still uptight;
I’ve got those low-down just can’t talk about my Jesus blues.

I get ’em in the morning when I get out of bed
They’re with me all day long.
I got ’em in the evening when the sun goes down
And that is why I sing this song.

(Well) I want so badly to spread the Word
But my tongue gets tied and I can’t get heard.
I’ve got those low-down just can’t talk about my Jesus blues.

(Instrumental)

I get ’em in the morning when I get out of bed
They’re with me all day long.
I got ’em in the evening when the sun goes down
And that is why I sing this song.

So what can I do to talk about God
I’ll ask the Holy Spirit to give me a prod
To lose those low-down just can’t talk about my Jesus
Low-down just can’t talk about my Jesus
Low-down just can’t talk about my Jesus blues.
